Preparing for an Alderpath Readiness Call
The readiness call is not an exam. It exists so we do not place someone on a soldering iron or centrifuge who has never handled basic laboratory risk language.
Expect questions about maths comfort—ratios, unit conversion, reading a graph—and about any previous workshop or maker experience. Gaps are fine; surprise is not. Tell us if standing for three-hour sessions is difficult so we can plan seating breaks.
Have your preferred intake month ready and note any employer sponsorship. If a hospital department is paying, we will need a purchase order contact before the deposit deadline.
Bring one honest question about the skills log. Applicants who ask how evidence is signed off tend to finish the programme with stronger portfolios than those who treat the call as a formality.
